CRYOBIOPSY & CRYOTHERAPY
Cryotherapy is an evolving therapeutic & diagnostic tool used during bronchoscopy, by which large pieces of tissue can be extracted with the freeze-thaw cycle. These properties allow for multiple bronchoscopic techniques, including Endobronchial & Transbronchial lung biopsy along with Endobronchial Debulking of tumour& Recanalization.
Endobronchial Cryobiopsy is a safe technique with a higher diagnostic yield for endobronchial malignancies than forceps biopsy.
Trans-Bronchial Cryobiopsy in experienced hands can be performed safely in patients with DPLD (Diffuse Parenchymal Lung Disease/ILDS) achieving adequate tissue for diagnosis in many patients without the risk & morbidity of surgical lung biopsy.
